As with Sebring the Road Atlanta race weekend starts out cold but dry with all teams searching for sunshine. Team Spirits were high with great anticipation, who doesn't love Road Atlanta a challenging course filled with elevation changes and blind corners, with one of the fastest back straights in racing.

Practice began on extremely cold but sunny morning. All cars were running at peak performance. Simon started out strong as always enjoying the scenery of a track he knows so well. Mickeys performance through the esses over the first large elevation change was very quick. After some fine tuning Mickey began to quickly drop time showing an improvement of 5 seconds in the second session.

Qualifying really saw both drivers improve their lap times with Mickey turning in her best lap of the weekend on Lap 5 while Simon Gregg qualified 5th.

The race was filled with excitement and plenty of passing, Simon Gregg battled down to the last lap just missing a podium finish with very consistent lap times. It was clear that Mickey was having a good day battling hard to the last lap and beating her qualifying lap time and posting a 12th place finish. Road Atlanta was a great turnaround from Sebring representing a great team effort. Even Jim Derhaag had to admit it was a good day. The team and drivers were still not satisfied and will be looking forward to even better results at Watkins Glen.
